This topic describes how to use a created or imported custom image, image copy, or shared image to quickly create Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances with the same operating system, applications, and data. This helps improve O&M efficiency of your business on the cloud.
Prerequisites
A custom image exists in the account and region where you want to create an instance.
Procedure
Log on to the ECS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
In the top navigation bar, select the region and resource group to which the resource belongs.
Click the Custom Images or Shared Images tab based on the image type that you want to use.
Find the image that you want to use. Click Create Instance in the Actions column.
The region and the image are automatically specified. Configure other parameters, such as Billing Method, Instance Type, and System Disk, based on your business requirements.
For more information, see Create an instance by using the wizard.
What to do next
If you add data disks when you create the instance, initialize the data disks to use them. For more information, see Initialize a data disk.
If the custom image that you select contains one or more data disk snapshots, the system automatically creates the same number of data disks based on the snapshots. After you create an ECS instance, log on to the ECS instance to mount the disks . Then, you can use the disks without the need to initialize them. For more information, see Initialization overview.
